Steelers/Panthers Game

The only time that the Steelers play the Panthers this year is the last pre-season game before regular season. Being that the game was in Charlotte, we had to go support the Steeler Nation. Although, as you can see below...there were more Steeler fans than Panther fans. Its a sad showing for Panthers fan, this stuff would never happen in Pittsburgh!

A little pre-game tailgating with the co-workers before the game. As Steelers fans walked by they greeted Sam and I with open arms and almost made Ryan cry by pointing out that his team was weak.

This is a photo from out "nose-bleed" seats. We eventually moved down to the lower level, row 2 by the Steelers tunnel.

Ben Roethlisberger scrambling for a completion during his only series in the game.

Lower level seats are much better! Especially when you don't pay lower level pricing!

Rob and Ryan watch the game in utter amazement of the skill of the 4th and 5th string Steeler rosters.

Me, Sam, Sheryl and Andy watching the game behind a Tampa fan who apparently missed the flight to Florida and ended in Charlotte.

The game is almost over and the Steelers fans are still going strong. Most of the Panther's fans are already at home rubbing bengay on their sore buttocks after receiving a 4 butt whompin' from the Steelers 4th & 5th string players.
Super Bowl XL MVP Hines Ward as he runs into the tunnel, broken nose and all.

In the upper left corner, Ben Roethlisberger chases Nate Washington off the field into the tunnel. Nobody really knows why.
Coach Tomlin declined our interview. Ah well, at least we're only 40 minutes from Bill Cowher's house in Raleigh.

Kicker and UNC alumni Jeff Reed, as he tossed a football into the crowd.

It's Polamalu, da duh duh dah. Earlier we were sitting beside a mother who showed us receiving gloves that Troy Polamalu gave to her son just before half time. Lucky Kid.

Sam was lucky enough to snag a players towel when the game ended. Anthony Madison #37 of the Steelers (see image above) was kind enough to pass of a ratty old sweaty towel that had been dangling from this waistline most of the night, to Sam who guards it like it was a gold nugget. Big ups to Sam for getting it though!

*Note* I was 5 inches away from grabbing Willie Parkers gloves when he tossed them up. Unfortunately a Panthers fan grabbed them and tossed them back onto the field. What a putz.
