New Bosch Washer/Dryer

Well, the old washer started to smoke one day before leaving for PA, so we decided that now was the time to upgrade to the front-end loader. We were going to get a Samsung, but have read and heard a lot about Bosch. They make the top rated dishwasher, lets hope the same remains true for the washer.

The old washer jumped around so much that it would be in a different position every time you came in. It was like we had a filming of "So you think you can dance" in our laundry room very time we started the wash. These are much quieter and are VERY efficient.

Jack Russell Pup for $9.97

Dubs was helping Sam wrap a few C-mas presents on Sunday. She ended up being for sale for $9.97 when it was all said and done.

NSMC C-mas Party & High Speed Cart Racing

Below are a few pics from our company C-mas party/Carting event. We did indoor high speed carting before going to dinner. It was fun.

Violin Music at Hawfields Presbyterian

Some of Sam's violin students volunteered their time on Saturday to go to Hawfields Presbyterian Home and play Christmas music for the residents. They did a great job and the seniors really enjoyed the performance.

Retaining Wall Update

Below are a few pics of the latest retaining wall progress. Special thanks to Jakes for volunteering his time to help in the completion of the block laying. We ran out of gravel and have to wait until more is delivered. That's 11 tons total used so far.

Also, we got our first snow of the year...unfortunately it was on the same day that I blocked out to work on the wall. Ah well....didn't stop us.

Retaining Wall Update

After a few days off due to 3 days of rain, I was able to resume work on the retaining wall. I've got the backside almost done and am going to start on the far side this week. I will be adding an additional layer of block to the top once I have backfill supporting it. I ran out of gravel yesterday and had to order 3 tons in for the finish. That means that I hauled 8 tons of gravel in the wheel barrel that Sam's grandparents gave us. Not easy. I hope to be done with the wall before we leave for PA next week.

Weekend of laying block

Weekend number 1 of block laying. Its going faster than we both thought that it would. I might have this done before Thanksgiving.

This is my solution to the early ending daylight after work! Instant daylight outside with two 500 watt halogen lights.

Delivery Day!

Friday was finally delivery day for the gravel/sand and the block. This is an 8 ton pile of gravel and 2 tons of sand. My back hurts just looking at this pile.

This is the guy who delivered the block. He was Grandpa Smith's twin to a T.

Sorry Jim (Neighbor) about the ruts in your/our yard. Had no choice.
