Housing Update

Well, as many of you already know we had to terminate our contract with Pierce Homes on the build of our new house. We've had a lot of trouble getting them motivated to continue with the build and then to seal the deal last week we found out that they are having financial troubles. That explains why our house has remained in slab stage for over a month and a half! We considered terminating the contract and finding a pre-existing home because its a buyers market. Our Realtor confirmed that we should find alternative options to the new build.

So, to make a long story short we viewed several houses within our price range and found one that we love. Its a big house and will meet any "expansion" needs we'll have in the future. This house would be a major upgrade from our last house. It's 2,770 sq ft (old house was 1200.) We made an offer on Friday, the sellers accepted it! The seller was a Private Investigator and he was transferred to South Carolina and needs to sell this house! They've been paying dual mortgages for over 6 months now. Their loss is our gain!

We'll post more pics once we close on the house!

*NOTE* The pictures are from their listing page, so that's all their stuff in the pics.

Oak lsland Vacation

Below are some pics of our vacation to Oak Island, NC. We had one nice day with a couple rainy days. Unfortunately we were right in the middle of hurricane season. Hurricane Cristobal stormed through as we were leaving...luckily we left just in time.

Sam and I sat on the deck for dinner on Thursday night. View was great, food was ok.

Below are a couple pics from the beach on friday. We both got pretty burnt. The crab was not live but makes for a great picture.

Below are pics from the barge we took to cross over to Fort Fisher. We both had never taken a barge before, it was interesting. The Explorer got the VIP treatment, right up front. It was windy out on the sea, notice Sam's hair!

The following are pics from our trip to the NC Aquarium.

We finished up our day on Fort Fisher with a visit to the Civil War Memorial. The pics below are remnants of the Fort Fisher. The mounds were once underground bunkers. It was all pretty interesting.

We finished up our trip to Fort Fisher with a movie. The Dark Knight. It was a good movie.

Scooter Delivery

Well, its finally here. The Scooter was delivered Wednesday. It came with some minor damage but overall it looks great. Below are a few pics from delivery day.Pic of the scooter almost put together sitting in the hallway at the office. I have to store it there until I get all the paperwork to take to the NC DMV to get the plates. I'll take more pics once I get back to the office to put the rest of the pieces together and change the oil.

Durham Bulls Game

Below are pics from our trip to Durham Bulls Athletic Park to see the Durham Bulls play Rochester Redwings. Durham Bulls were featured in the movie "Bull Durham" with Kevin Costner. Its a great park. We had a good time.

You can see in the pic above the giant bull and the Lucky Strike smoke stack from what remains of the old tobacco warehouses. The whole area has been transformed into upscale office buildings.

Our friends Dave/Jennifer & Ryan/Kim went with us. We're sitting in the VIP box section....that we mootched!

Scooter!

Well, the scooter has been ordered! For those of you who don't know, I've made the jump from 4 wheels to 2 wheels in effort to save gas on the daily commute. I can do that here down south because the weather will be nice clear through December. I'm not too proud to scoot.

Anyway, below is a shot of the scooter that I ordered. This is the exact same thing as I ordered. I'll upload the pics when I receive it!
