Lexington BBQ Festival 2008

We were able to grab some quality Western NC BBQ on Saturday at the Lexington BBQ fest 08. The BBQ is always good and there are always premium country bands that play. This year Leanne Womack and the Lost Trailers (Sing Holla Back) played on the main stage.

Retaining Wall update

Straight Talk Express rolls into Elon University

Gov. Palin and Hank Williams Jr visited Elon University in Burlington on Thursday. Unfortunately I could not attend the rally, because I'm like most Americans and had to work. I'm not a huge Palin fan, but I would have liked to see Hank Williams Jr. carry out an old "family tradition".

Retaining Wall

A couple pics of the start of the retaining wall. Have to dig a trench and level it off to get the footers started. Still a lot of work ahead. But when its all said and done, we'll have gained 5-6 feet of yard space.

Garage-It's Getting There!

Below are a few pics of the garage. We're slowly getting it cleared out and things put away. I spent most of the day last Friday building a work bench to house all of my crap. We might be able to get one of the cars in here eventually!

Cedarock Park, Graham, NC

Few pics from our trip Saturday to Cedarock Park. Its about 5 minutes from Sam's new school. There are acres of hiking trails and picnic areas. Its good exercise for Dubs....which is good because she has plenty of calories to burn after packing it on in our apartment.

Back yard project

Below are a couple shots of the backyard from the upstairs window (thus the screen pattern). We're trying to get a retaining wall built to push the fence back about 5 feet and to level out the slopes so we can build a straight vinyl fence. The landscapers quote came back WAY high, so it looks like I'll probably be tackling this by myself....again (with Sam's help of course!)
